The Zero DS features a 4KW battery thats good for about 40 miles of riding and recharges in approximately four hours.
Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, will showcase its 2011 Zero S, Zero DS, Zero X and Zero MX models at Dealer Expo 2011, Feb. 18-20 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Along with highlighting its new product line, Zero will also be presenting its business plan to interested motorcycle dealers that are looking for ways to connect to new consumers and new lines for their businesses.

“Dealer Expo is a great way for us to reach the entire industry in one location and at one event. Whether you are an independent sales representative or multi-line dealer, it has become increasingly important to grow and adapt with the times,” said John Lloyd, VP of World Wide Sales for Zero Motorcycles. “Our strategies allow us to produce exceptionally high quality electric motorcycles that balance performance, range, weight, affordability and availability. In addition, our new dealer business model is equally cutting edge for today’s rapidly evolving retail environment. We encourage everyone to visit booth #5375 to talk to a representative and learn more about Zero Motorcycles.”

Since 2006, Zero Motorcycles has been the only electric motorcycle manufacturer to produce, market and sell electric motorcycles to countries around the world. This year, Zero Motorcycles has made sweeping technical improvements as well as added a contemporary new look to all of its models, including a complete overhaul of the Zero S and the Zero DS. Every model is now ‘quick-charge’ capable using an optional upgrade that allows the motorcycles to charge nearly twice as fast. In addition, for the first time on an electric motorcycle, riders can now take advantage of J1772 public charging stations by using an optional accessory. This offers riders greater mobility by giving them access to a rapidly growing network of charge stations. The entire lineup is equipped with upgraded suspension systems, a more intelligent and rugged Z-Force powertrain, more precise charge indicators, new higher performance brakes and industry-standard component features. Other highlights to the product line include street legal configurations of the dirt bikes and a new maintenance free belt drive for the street and dual sport models.

“We are extremely proud to be presenting at this year’s Dealer Expo,” said Scot Harden, VP of Global Marketing for Zero Motorcycles. During 2010 our engineering and manufacturing teams worked overtime to design and build the world’s finest collection of electric motorcycles based on feedback from the marketplace and our customers. To give something back to the community that has helped us to build our new lineup, at this year’s Dealer Expo we are extremely proud to donate a 2010 Zero Motorcycle to Cycle World’s Joe Parkhurst Foundation auction to benefit the college scholarship program for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.”
