Suzuki has a full slate of racing on the 2010 schedule.
There was a lot of speculation as to whether
Suzuki would continue its racing program in 2010 with such a tough economy. That question has been answered and fortunately we’ll see the Suzuki banner flying in
AMA Pro Superbike (Tommy Hayden, Blake Young),
AMA Supercross (Ryan Dungey, Matt Moss),
AMA Motocross (Ryan Dungey, Matt Moss),
AMA ATV Motocross (Dustin Wimmer, Josh Creamer) and
AMA GNCC (Josh Strang).
The yellow brand racked up six titles in 2009 with its Rockstar Makita Suzuki teams. "Suzuki products are truly industry-leading and we stand behind them 100 percent," said Senior Advertising Manager Steve Bortolamedi. "We proved that last year with our six titles. For 2010, what better way to demonstrate this again than by putting our reputation on the line?"
Suzuki hopes to continue its winning ways by utilizing the experience and performance of Yoshimura R&D of America. "Yoshimura will be managing Suzuki racing efforts in Supercross, Motocross, Road Racing, and ATV Racing," said Yoshimura R&D Senior Vice President, Don Sakakura. "We hope to be able to showcase the performance of the Suzuki line of high-performance motorcycles and ATVs. Suzuki is proud of their products and is ready for the upcoming racing season. We at Yoshimura are equally looking forward to 2010."

Ryan Dungey leads the MX and
SX effort.
Ryan Dungey already has a win aboard the
RM-Z450 when he debuted in the
450 motocross division at the
2009 Motocross des Nations. With
Chad Reed now riding for Kawasaki and
Mike Alessi heading back to KTM, Dungey is the veteran and team leader. He will be joined in the 450 class by 2009 Australian National Pro Lites and Australasian Supercross Pro Lites champion, Matt Moss.
Josh Creamer will hop off his
Kawasaki KFX450 ATV to join the Suzuki team alongside Dustin Wimmer. We tested Wimmer’s championship-winning
Suzuki QuadRacer R450 and know that this two-man effort will be a dynamic duo using equipment like this.
Josh Strang returns to do grueling battle in the three-hour GNCC events on a modified RM-Z450 like the
factory replica we tested. He will contest the XC1 class.
Road racing fans can cheer for Tommy Hayden and Blake Young who stay with the brand for another season of racing the AMA Pro Superbike division on Suzuki’s proprietary
GSXR-1000.
"With great sponsors like Rockstar, Makita and the Suzuki family of program partners, it really frees us up to go out and win races,” added Sakakura. “With team managers like Roger DeCoster in Motocross and Supercross, Pete Doyle in Road Racing, and Kory Ellis and Kevin Mummah in ATV, I'd say we are looking pretty good."
