Motorcycle USA’s contributing editor Steve Atlas backed up yesterday’s win aboard the Brammo/MotoUSA Empulse RR electric bike with another one in the TTXGP North American Championship on Sunday at Infineon Raceway.
It was a perfect weekend for the Brammo team with the Oregon-based brand clearly engineering a superior motorcycle. This allowed Atlas to set the new track record in the class (1'55.150).
“We made some changes to the bike so we could go even faster,” said Atlas. We fitted a smaller Dunlop rear slick and changed the gearing for more top speed and that helped us set that fast lap.”
As opposed to yesterday Atlas led right from the get-go and was completely unchallenged for duration of the 8-lap race. Moto Electric’s Thad Wolf once again finished second and Volt’s Kenyon Kluge finishing third. Once again the Mission Motorsports and Moto Czyz teams who have done well in the past have failed to compete.
TTXGP Results:
1. Steve Atlas (Brammo)
2. Thad Wolf (Moto Electric)
3. Kenyon Kluge (VOLT)
4. Ely Schless (Proto Moto)
