The TTXGP boosted its stock today by gaining two big allies, FIM North America and the AMA.
The Electric-powered TTXGP
North American Championship announced today that it will be sanctioned by FIM North America and the leading American motorcycle federation, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA).
The 2011 TTXGP North American Championship, which will feature the latest in electric-powered motorcycle technology, will be sanctioned by FIM North America, a continental union of the FIM. The sanction will be issued by the AMA, a member federation of the FIM and FIM North America.
"We feel this is a fantastic step in the acceptance of zero-carbon motorsport, and we recognize the dedication and professionalism of all the participants, tracks and partners that make TTXGP what it is today," said Azhar Hussain, CEO and founder of the TTXGP. "We are pleased to be working with FIM North America and its member federation in the United States, the AMA. The AMA is a fantastic partner for the TTXGP. Not only is the AMA a large and respected sanctioning body, but it is also the leader in representing motorcyclists across America. As we ride into the next generation of motorsport, the AMA will prove to be the catalyst for us to properly engage local, state and federal governments, international governing organizations and the court of public opinion."
AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley added that the TTXGP adds a unique element to the motorcycle racing landscape.
"TTXGP is an innovative race series," Bromley said. "We're eager to work with the organizers and race teams that are leading the development of electric-powered competition motorcycles. The TTXGP North American Championship will showcase technology that will potentially play a significant role in the future of racing."
The 2011 TTXGP North American Championship kicks off at Infineon on May 14-15 during the West Coast Moto Jam Weekend. TTXGP fans can receive up to $10 off the weekend pass for this event. The discount is available online at www.ttxgp.com/infineon2011
MotoUSA will be there along with our wonder kid Steve Atlas
who will be competing in the first round of the TTXGP aboard the Brammo Empulse
. Brammo, who hails from the same community as MotoUSA will be putting their best foot forward in an effort to gain recognition for their all new good-looking high performance electric motorcycle. We wanted to wait to make this announcement but we figured this would be a good time to tip our hand. Climb on folks, this is going to be a wild ride at Infineon.
