James Stewart Takes Plea Deal

Wednesday, November 9, 2011
James Stewart: We didnt end the season like we thought we would. got a good start but struggled through the whoops. I dropped the front end. I have been crashing a lot in the whoops lately and Im not really sure what is going on. We will keep trying to get better. We have some other things going on now that I am excited about. Its a bummer year but what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I appreciate all the support Ive had this year and well step it up.
Stewart will be fined $500 and have to serve 75 hours of community service while on one year of probation.
James Stewart pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge for using flashing or rotating lights on a moving vehicle. The newly signed JGR team member and multi-time Motocross and Supercross champ entered in the no contest plea to the lesser charge rather than the original felony charge of impersonating a police officer in March 2011 reports the Orlando Sentinel.

The charge stemmed from an incident where Stewart was arrested for using red and blue lights bought at flea market to attempt to pull over two off-duty Florida Highway Patrol troopers. After the troopers identified themselves, Stewart fled and was later arrested at the Orlando Airport in the same very same Toyota Tundra used in the crime.

The plead calls for Stewart to perform 75 hours of community service, one year of probation and a $500 fine. Adjudication of guilt was withheld by the judge because he is a first time offender.
