2011 Updated Supercross Schedule

Monday, June 28, 2010
The 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross schedule has recently been updated to include two new races for next season. Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and Oak-Alameda City Stadium in Oakland, California have both
2010 Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey grabbed the whole shot and lead all twenty laps on the dusty and slick Las Vegas track.
Ryan Dungey will be defending his title in the 2011 Supercross season which now includes Dodger Stadium and the Oak-Alameda City Stadium.
been added to the lineup. The series will still keep its tradition of beginning at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on January 8 and ending at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium on May 7.

“The 2011 Monster Energy Supercross schedule, which includes two new venues, sets the stage for next year and we will continue to assemble several key enhancements to build this brand and the sport of supercross,” remarked Kenneth Feld, Chairman and CEO of Feld Entertainment. “We are excited to showcase the inaugural Monster Energy Supercross races at the legendary Dodgers Stadium and return to Oakland’s Oak-Alameda City Stadium.”

“Supercross is an excellent showcase for FIM motorsports and the number of its fans grows every year,” said FIM President Vito Ippolito. “This is also the FIM's wish. We know Feld Motor Sports is working hard on that for the future and we are pleased to see that the 2011 calendar counts another 17 events."

Reigning Supercross champion Ryan Dungey will be attempting to defend his title in 2011 after he became the youngest AMA Supercross champion.

“Anaheim 1 is probably the biggest and most anticipated race we have in our sport, but I like San Francisco, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Indy because they are better suited to my style,” said Dungey. “The crowds are big in all of those cities, the towns are cool and the tracks are great, but I am a racer, so I am ready to go wherever they line us up at. I have to prepare for a long season that is 17 races in 18 weeks; it is grueling on your body and mind. I experienced that last year and know a little more now what to expect. And with the return of James (Stewart), Chad (Reed), and Ryan (Villopoto), it should be a good one that hopefully goes down to the wire.”

Thanks for killing any enjoyment we had in wintertime. Not making a stop in Minnesota any more is bullcrap.I know the press people get cold toes and you might have to buy a winter jacket but we had great years in the Metrodome.Thank you for killing a tradition I had with my family. But hey, have couple rounds in Canada, thats important to the AMA! For all I'm concerned now, have all the rounds in California we're stuck watching them on tv anyway.
