Suzuki to Run 250 Program in 2011

Friday, August 06, 2010
The Rockstar Energy Suzuki Supercross and Motocross team is pleased to announce it will continue racing in 2011 with even stronger support from Rockstar Energy Drink and American Suzuki Motor Corporation, and with the addition of Yoshimura R&D of America.
Ryan Dungey started down in the pack during the main but eventually worked his way up to take the win.

Rockstar, Suzuki, and Yoshimura are driven to pass on the success they have enjoyed with Ryan Dungey (pictured) and the RM-Z450 to the Lites class and the RM-Z250, and that's where Rockstar Energy Suzuki comes in.

The Rockstar Energy Suzuki team will be running Suzuki's 250-class racing efforts under the continued supervision of Bill Keefe, who is looking forward to the expanded program for next year: He said: "We are excited about Suzuki's corporate commitment to the 250 class. The RM-Z250 has a very strong motor with exceptional handling and we plan on winning in 2011. Rockstar is the premier brand in energy drinks and a great partner for our racing efforts. Like us, they are fully committed to Supercross and Motocross."

Yoshimura Vice President Don Sakakura said. "We've had a lot of success with Ryan Dungey and the RM-Z450 motorcycle. We feel it will once again be the bike, rider, and team to beat moving forward into the 2011 season. We feel that the same success will transfer to the 250 efforts. Rockstar has become an integral part of Suzuki racing, and we are very happy to continue the relationship and winning tradition."

Rockstar Energy Drink Marketing Director Mike Kelso was also enthusiastic about the increased support: "The addition of the 250 Rockstar Energy Suzuki team to this level completes our step-up program throughout the sport. From amateur, to elite amateur, to the 250; and finally the 450 class of professional motocross racing, Rockstar is supporting all platforms."

The expanded support for the 250 class will round-out an impressive stable of contenders for 2011. With additional staffing and support, this Suzuki team should be tough to beat when the gate drops in Anaheim next January.
