Chad Reed is taking his Supercross expertise on the road in 2011. The 2004 and 2008 AMA SX champion will be on a new team soon. The question is what team will it be. He sure would be a good fit for KTM.

Kawasaki announced that it is cutting ties with Chad Reed after the two parties mutually agreed to go their separate ways.

"Monster Energy Kawasaki would like to thank Chad Reed for being a part of our team for the 2010 AMA Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship and the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Series. Reed was a valuable member of our program scoring one win and multiple podium finishes aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors".

This raises the question of where Reed will end up as the 2011 AMA Supercross and Motocross seasons are coming up quick. With former Suzuki boss Roger Decoster set to head up the KTM Racing endeavors the rumor is that Reed is set to join his former boss as part of a powerhouse team capable of bringing a Supercross championship title to the Austrian based company.

The new KTM 350SX seems perfectly designed to take the Supercross world by storm and with two-time SX champion Chad Reed at the controls it would be a formidable combination.

everyone's bagging on reed, i'll admit i have done that in the past but he sure does have balls bouncing from team to team just trying to continue riding a bike for a living. now how many of you are doing that?didn't think so. as for him jumping to ktm.. that's entirely up for grabs. i thought he was starting an individual honda team or something?either way 2011 is going to be insane with some new faces out there with the big boys!

Chad just seemed to lack that extra motivation to perform at a level we are accustomed to seeing. Chad looked like David Vuillemin last year. Vuillemin rode himself out of the series and if Chad doesn't step it up he's heading that direction too! He'd be a good fit for a satellite Honda team. Dungy rode like a stud this season but hoists the #1 plates but I wonder if he could have beaten James Stewart head to head. If James could keep from getting hurt he is WAY faster than all the other riders. (I think Villapoto has the most potential for wins next season if he doesn't pull a Stewart and get hurt again)

FOR THOSE OF YOU SITTING HERE BAGGING ON CHAD REED YOU HAVE NO ROOM TO TALK BECAUSE HE WOULD MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A F**KING SPODE ON THE TRACK AND OFF THE TRACK. wow some of these comments are way off ricky made the suzuki what it is today use your head like really ricky won how many races on borad a suzuki and the bike he is sitting on in that pic is a older yamaha not the new one gez if anyone that knew bikes would know that reed needs to just quit racing in the usa cuz hell get beat hands down and dumb dumbs rodger owned the suzuki team he was just getting tired of the team and the resposabilitys

I FEEL BAD FOR REEDY IN A WAY... HE CANNOT WIN WITH UNLESS THE TOP 4 GUYS (GOAT,BUBBA,DUNGY and RV) ARE OUT. HE WILL BE GOOD FOR KTM OR JGR. HE HAS ALOT TO OFFER A TEAM THAT IS NOT EXPECTING HIM TO BE NO. 1 BY THE WAY THE NEXT FEW YEARS ARE GOING TO B THE BEST RACING EVER. (SO MANY FAST GUYS COMING UP) ENJOY. Lets run this down: Carmichael developed the RMZ 450, not Reed (though Reed might have helped to fine tune the SX side) Suzuki let Reed go... good idea, good result Kawi picked up Reed... good idea to support RV, bad result Suzuki lets DeCoster go... bad idea Kawi lets Reed go... good idea, looking to pick up a young rider KTM picks up DeCoster... good idea, only flaw is KTM's lack of support If a team is to pick up Reed, they need to understand he is no longer a champ, he is a top 5 guy. If you understand that, and expect that, then enjoy.

I'm amazed with how many people can down reed after all he has done for the sport and especially in australia, but i'm sure you can all go on with how bad he is after all to still be riding after losing a best friend in the racing industry and to have off and on illnesses. so lay some slack off and think before you speak.

Reed was a good fit for Kawi because I don't like either of them. Now he's looking for another team to trainwreck. The only team that will pick him up is one that likes to continually finish second and then hear lots of excuses.

And I agree Suzuki was dumb to let Roger go. He made the Suzuki team what it is.

The euros are making a comeback. Under BMW's ..er .. wing, Husky has a good line up of off-roaders. Compare this with the big 4 Japanese. Only Yamaha still makes 2 strokes, although Suzuki and Kawi still sell them in non-US markets. No wide ratio 2 strokes with lights.

I can go back to rooting for Team Green! Now the question - who runs alongside RV in the Kawi tent? Will it be one of the dominant lights riders? Or a seasoned SX vet?

I'm thrilled to see Roger at KTM but not so much to see Reed there. Suzuki was nuts to break up the DeCoster/Dungey team. Unless he was asking for an absurd amount of money they should have worked out a three year deal for him like he wanted.
