Jake Weimer Supercross Injury

Tuesday, December 28, 2010
Jake Weimer lead the Pro Circuit freight train from start to finish in Vegas taking the win in front of a packed house.
Jake Weimer, shown here during his 2010 AMA West Coast Supercross Lites championship, broke his arm preparing for the 2011 Supercross season.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer will have to wait to take a shot at the AMA Supercross class after breaking his arm during SX testing today. Kawasaki broke the news with this tweet, “Jake Weimer suffered a broken arm while preparing for the SX season. We all wish Jake a fast recovery and can't wait for his SX class debut.”

Weimer is coming off the 2010 West Coast Supercross Lites championship and was one of the hottest riders to watch as the series comes to Angel Stadium for Anaheim 1 on January 8. His Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F will not be on the starting line, but the squad has another rider who is at the top of everyone’s minds. Ryan Villopoto will hold down the fort for the factory green squad, but we’ll have to wait and see if he gets a replacement rider. Kawi was quick to fill vacant seats in 2010.

Currently there are mixed reports about surgery and the subsequent recovery or return to racing.

Jake,
Supercross woon't be the same without you. We will miss watching our home town boy. Heal fast so that you can show them how the Idaho boy rides.

Jake Weimer always comes across as a nice guy in interviews, without the petulant streak shown by some of his rivals. I hope he has a speedy recovery, and a good rookie season in the 450's. He had some bad luck and went thru a rough patch in the outdoors this year, but finished strong, so this is the last thing he needs.
