Andrew Short will ride the new KTM 350 SX-F in its Supercross debut.
KTM has a new emphasis on American racing, and the 2011 350 SX-F motocross bike is at the heart of it. The factory Red Bull KTM team will be running this smaller-displacement machine exclusively in the stadiums of AMA Supercross where Andrew Short and Mike Alessi will try to give the unproven machine its first SX victory. Racing legend Roger DeCoster has been recruited to run the operation as Team Manager and oversee the progression of the bike. One of the things that Andrew Short has commented on is the bike's engine. The 350 can be competitive with 450 equipment, but the power delivery is much different. Short has been looking for extra bottom end in order to have better drive toward obstacles on the tight Supercross layouts.
With the opening fireworks for Anaheim 1 lighting off tomorrow night, here’s a quick look at the most anticipated machine of the year. Check out our Red Bull KTM SX Team Preview
