Chad Reed will race the Outdoors on his TwoTwo Motorsports Honda CRF450R.
Chad Reed is taking TwoTwo Motorsports to the
Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship following his successful run through the Supercross season. The 2009 outdoor champion will make a bid for the title in 2011 aboard his Honda CRF450R. Reed’s announcement comes fresh on the heels of
James Stewart bowing out of the season indefinitely along with San Manuel Yamaha teammate, Kyle Regal.
“I am very excited about doing the outdoors,” said Reed in a press release. ”Our first year of Supercross was awesome. We started behind the eight-ball but we got stronger and stronger as the season went on. We are starting the Motocross season in a much better position, we have momentum and it is our aim to carry that momentum through.”
Reed will be getting bikes and parts from Amerian Honda along with sponsorship from Etnies, BelRay, Skull Candy and Shift. The Australian proved that his decision to ride red was a good one as his
Honda CRF450R became increasingly competent throughout the SX season. Now, with more testing and backing from the factory, Reed is in a position to extract even more from his equipment.
“Honda has increased their support and are supplying me with bikes and parts which is fantastic,” he said. “We have done lots of testing and right from the get go I have felt very comfortable on the bike. I am having a blast. I am loving riding and enjoying being around the team. I am really looking forward to battling it out there each weekend and trying to win another outdoor title.”
