Christophe Pourcel trade green for blue with the MotoConcepts Yamaha team in 2011.
After much speculation about where Christophe Pourcel would wind up for the outdoor Nationals, the former Pro Circuit rider has made up his mind. Despite testing with the Geico Powersports Honda and Rockstar Valli Yamaha teams, the flying Frenchman has aligned himself with MotoConcepts Racing. Pourcel will contest the 12-round
AMA Motocross Championship aboard a Yamaha YZ450F.
“The end of the season last year was disappointing but I’m very excited to make a brand new start in the motocross season with a new team, a new motorcycle and some good people behind me,” said Pourcel. “It’s going to be interesting to see what we can accomplish together.”
Pourcel has not raced since battling for the 250 outdoor championship last season when he suffered a shoulder injury at the final round. He will benefit from the guidance and experience of fellow Frenchman and team manager, David Vuillemin.
“We, at MotoConcepts, are excited to bring a rider of Christophe’s caliber to our program,” said team owner, Mike Genova. “We are confident with his talent and his history of winning coupled with our experienced staff. MotoConcepts will (be) a very competitive force in the 450 Motocross class this summer.”
