The FIM has released a provisional 2012
MotoGP calendar. The 18-rounds season will once again open under the lights of Qatar, the first round slated for April 15. The season will conclude at its now traditional venue, the Ricardo Tormo circuit at Valencia on November 11. The United States continues to host two rounds, Laguna Seca (July 29) and Indianapolis (August 19) – with a third USGP round slated for the 2013 schedule. The usual quirks on the calendar include the Dutch TT running at Assen on a Saturday (June 30). The Laguna Seca round will also be MotoGP only, the support Moto2 and Moto3 classes heading stateside for only the second USGP at Indy. The venue for the German GP (July 8) is yet to be confirmed.
