Ducati has completed an initial “shakedown” test of its 1000cc GP12 at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. The Italian marque’s longtime MotoGP test rider Vittoriano Guareschi led the Thursday festivities, along with Franco Battaini.

Injured MotoGP rider Alvaro Bautista still faces a long recovery following his broken femur at the Qatar MotoGP opener. That didn’t stop the Spaniard from sneaking a quick remount on his Rizla Suzuki GSV-R at his home Grand Prix in Jerez.
