As the AMA Supercross Season kicks off, every race team is unveiling its tricked-out machines in the pits of the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Yoshimura
Suzuki invited us over to its pits to take a look at a machine that won’t be hitting the track, but will be seeing plenty of use throughout the race day – James Stewart’s Arctic Cat Prowler 700 HDX pit vehicle.
Last season the team’s golf cart gave up the ghost so Tim Welch, Yoshimura’s R&D Manager, procured a 2013 Arctic Cat Prowler 700 HDX to pimp out for the ultimate pit ride. He then contacted some of the companies he works closely with for UTV projects and racing.
First off, the Prowler’s camo graphics were replaced with Yoshimura Suzuki’s Factory Racing team colors with a wrap from ProLine Wraps
. After that a set of ITP
SS212 Wheels wrapped with ITP Utracross Tires complete the visual transformation from a rig more suited for hunting to a Supercross pit cruiser.
was tasked with installing a custom stereo that would be just as striking as the looks of the Yosh Arctic Cat. Rather than installing off-the-shelf SSV Works speaker pods, the crew created a custom two sub-woofer enclosure at the front of the dump bed and dropped four 6.5” speakers in the cab. All of it is powered by a water- and dust-proof docking station that features Bluetooth, iPod control and an FM tuner.
Finishing off the driver’s area is a suede wrapped Pro Armor
steering wheel with a billet aluminum adapter and an Assault Industries
Grenade Shifter Knob.
JS7 and crew will be rolling in style this season in their Arctic Cat Prowler that sounds just as good as it looks. When you are at your local SX or MX step up and get a closer look if you can. It is one of the best pit rides on the circuit.
