James Stewart has answered an important question heading into the AMA Pro Motocross Championship
James Stewart confirmed via his Twitter account that he will race the 2012 AMA Pro Motocross Championship opener at Hangtown. Stewart posted a photo of himself in the gym and wearing his cycling gear, so it looks like he’s getting down to work for the grueling outdoor series.
His tweet says,“I look forward to seeing my fans at hangtown behind the starting gate. More news to come soon.”
He followed that up with another post that says, “If U keep on doing what you are doing you'll keep getting what you are getting. If U don't like what you're getting change what you're doing.”
It will be interesting to see what comes out of the Stewart camp on May 19. If he can make a consistent run through the summer, Stewart won’t need to post another perfect season. With
Ryan Villopoto out for knee surgery and the rest of the 450 class decimated by injury, it could be his championship to win.
The news comes amid swirling rumors that JS and his JGRMX Toyota team are contemplating a split. Stewart has been nursing an injured wrist and has not raced his Yamaha YZ450F since Houston where he crashed out. Supposedly there is more to the issue than a sore wrist and the JGR camp and Stewart have all been tight-lipped about what's really going on. Stewart signed a long-term contract and cannot simply walk out on the team without coming to some kind of agreement. Hopefully they keep it together and can make a successful run at the motocross title.
