Blake Baggett still in the points lead went 1-4 at Spring Creek.
Blake Baggett took an incredible win in 250 Moto 1 at Spring Creek after closing a 10 second gap on Justin Barcia.
Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett battled his way to the front in one of his most intense come-from-behind performances all season in 250 Race 1 at Spring Creek. Baggett flew past Geico Honda’s Justin Barcia late in the race, cranking the throttle into a turn and taking an incredible inside line for the lead. Once out front, Baggett built a gap of almost seven seconds through the final two laps. Barcia’s teammate Eli Tomac kept an aggressive pace as well and rounded out the podium.

Baggett in decent position, holding to fifth, and Barcia shot out front to the lead. Tomac and Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen kept close to Barcia and the battle for podium position remained extremely close for the entire race. Baggett was over 10 seconds off the lead at one point, but near mid-race BB put on a stunning show as he rode to the limits of sanity in his pursuit of victory. Roczen fell out of the podium battle in the final laps and took fourth at the finish.

Wil Hahn of Geico Honda took fifth, followed by Rockstar Energy Racing’s Blake Wharton. Roczen’s teammate Marvin Musquin earned seventh and was followed by Rockstar’s Jason Anderson in eighth.

Tomac came back and scored a big win in Moto 2, running a gap on Barcia of over 20 seconds by the checkers. Roczen made the podium in third ahead of Baggett who took fourth. Early in the race, BB and Tomac battled for the lead and Baggett eventually gained the front. Then, with close to 15 minutes remaining, Baggett crashed and had to restart his bike, dropping him from first to seventh. The gaps between the top five riders were substantial, and he was only able to get back up to fourth before the end.

"That first moto was a barn burner, we all just went at it," said Tomac. "I needed some better starts and I got those this weekend. Blake and I were going at it (in the second moto), but he made a mistake. I was kind of lucky he fell where he did. I just took it from there."

Wharton made it to fifth, holding Musquin to sixth. Hahn took seventh followed by Geico Honda’s Justin Bogle in eighth. Bogle sat as high as fourth-place during the contest, but slipped back late in the race as riders continued to push forward.

None of the top-10 riders changed position in overall points. Barcia, Tomac and Roczen are all creeping closer to Baggett's lead, with Barcia behind by just 18 points in second and Tomac an additional 16 behind in third.

Eli Tomac took first overall in the 250 class at Spring Creek after going 3-1.
