Justin Barcia took the overall win in 250s at Washougal going 1-2.
Justin Barcia took a big win in Moto 1 at Washougal while points leader Blake Baggett made multiple mistakes and finished in sixth.
Geico Honda’s Justin Barcia pulled out a big win in 250 Moto 1 at the Peterson CAT Washougal National. The Honda rider beat out teammate Eli Tomac by 1.636 at the checkers and Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin followed in third, earning his first podium of the season. Musquin’s teammate Ken Roczen took fourth and Wil Hahn, also of Geico Honda, earned fifth.

Musquin opened the round in the lead and held steady there for over 20 minutes, putting up one of his best performances this year. Barcia and Tomac remained patient in second and third until Barcia found an inside line and aggressively pushed past the two-time World MX champion. Tomac followed suit soon after, getting past Musquin to challenge Barcia for the front in the final 10 minutes. Roczen remained in the running for a podium finish, but couldn’t muster the speed to get past his teammate in the last laps.

Hahn moved up to fifth after Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett flew off track late in the moto. Baggett had three incidents during Moto 1 that set him back, an early crash and then a bobble through the same turn shortly after. Recovered from his first two mistakes, BB was challenging Roczen for fourth and had enough time to fight for a podium finish until his final crash which left him over 36 seconds off the lead by the finish.

Baggett came back in Moto 2 and beat out Barcia for first in the final laps of the race. Barcia got out front early with Baggett close behind in second, and the two remained set as the front runners for the rest of the contest. Baggett got a line with two laps remaining, getting past Barcia and building a gap that would end up over 21 seconds. Barcia encountered some trouble after Baggett got by, but was able to maintain through to the checkers. Tomac rounded out the Moto 2 podium.

Blake Baggett remains the points leader going 6-1 at Washougal and taking third overall.
Blake Baggett rebounded in Moto 2 to take the win, getting ahead of Barcia in the final laps of the race.
"The first moto was awesome, I had to ride really hard," said Barcia. "I just kind of got sick getting roosted, so I made the pass. In the second moto, I got a good start and was riding great, but Blake (Baggett) pressured me and I ended up losing my front end with a couple laps to go. The last two years here I've really struggled, but after today I'm happy."

Musquin lost out on a second rostrum finish after Tomac blasted past late in the moto. The French rider had been steady in third for much of the contest and ended with one of his best overall results of the season. Geico Honda’s Justin Bogle came across the finish in fifth, followed over 10 seconds behind by Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki’s Blake Wharton and Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen in sixth and seventh, respectively. Roczen came off the start in 12th and had a tough battle to make it within the top-10.

"I just made a mistake and tried going faster than I could go," said Baggett. "I had a couple falls, so I just went back and regrouped. I made some changes between motos and I guess they worked."

Baggett continues to hold the points lead as no riders in the top nine shifted position in the points race, though the gaps between riders has tightened. Barcia only trails by 11 in second and Tomac is only 21 behind his teammate in third. Roczen is now just 50 off the lead followed by Musquin in fifth, who is an additional 49 points back.
