Troy Lee Designs Adventure Jersey and Pant
When it comes to getting down and dirty, gear selection can make all the difference. At the end of the day a rider may lament how their jersey was just too hot, or how their ‘waterproof’ pants weren’t really waterproof. It’s isn’t unheard of for entire trips to be ruined because of simple gear malfunctions. As one of the premier reviewers of the latest motorcycles and gear, MCUSA has become well aware of this. To set our readers up for success while off-roading we’ve compiled a helpful list of appropriate equipment in our 2011 Motorcycle Gift Guide to Dirt Gear. After all, a happy rider is a comfortable one.

Troy Lee Designs Adventure Jersey and Pant

Troy Lee Designs’ newest addition to their dirt lineup is the Adventure Jersey and Adventure Pants. Designed by none other than Rick Johnson – yes, THE Rick Johnson - the Adventure Jersey and pants are for the avid off-road rider that spends the day in the desert or mountains and doesn’t return until the sun is well below the horizon. Both pieces feature reflective logos for night riding. The fit is loose and comfortable, and is the usual TLD quality. When I don’t want to stand out on the trail but still look good, I grab this gear. – Justin Dawes

Klim Dakar Pants
Over the years Klim has become associated with some of the most advanced, hardcore adventure gear on the market. Because of this it’s only natural that Klim should create the Dakar Pants, which aim at being some of the most technologically advanced riding pants. Made of Cordura fabric and consisting of TNP heat and abrasion resistant material, the Dakar Pants are capable of adapting to a variety of environments whether it be hot or cold. Ballistic panels exist in high-wear areas such as the inner legs and knees to increase durability. The design also features removable hip and knee pads. Meant to be worn over the boots, the Dakar Pants feature controlled ventilation via two adjustable thigh mesh vents with dual zipper heads. For added function there’s a polyester ribbed gusset at the inseam and above the knees which allow the material to move with the rider. There’s a long list of additional features, and in the end they combine to create some of the most versatile pants.

JT Racing Classick Gear

JT Racing Pro-Tour Jersey
JT Racing is back! The iconic apparel maker disappeared from the moto landscape but has introduced a new set of pants, jersey, gloves and helmets. All of the gear is made with modern materials and techniques, but JT gave it retro styling as a throwback to the glory days. The Classick pants have heavy-duty leather panels on both knees and thigh vents that help pass cool air. The Pro-Tour Jersey has lots of venting under the arms and at the neck collar. It uses padding on the shoulders and elbows to help minimize crash damage. The Life Line gloves are probably the coolest ones I’ve ever seen, and they fit great and provide protection. Considering how great this gear looks and the way it draws attention, the fact that it performs great makes the JT Racing gear a done deal. – JC Hilderbrand, Off-Road Editor
