Chad Reed - 2012 AMA Supercross at Anaheim
Kawasakis Ryan Villopoto led every lap of the main at Anaheim to claim the first win of the season in dominant fashion.
Chad Reed signing Ryan Villopoto? How's that for a coup!
Chad Reed admitted that he’s trying to get Ryan Villopoto signed on to race for his TwoTwo Motorsports team in 2013. The 2012 Supercross champion is at the end of his current contract with Monster Energy Kawasaki, which makes him the hottest free agent heading into the new season, despite a second major knee injury.

"Ryan's contract is up and we're talking to him," Reed was quoted on Fox Sports. "We really want to try and make it happen. He's a great kid and we've been teammates before.”

Reed has been monitoring Villopoto’s rehabilitation over the summer along with his own return to racing form. The Honda racer/team owner suffered a major crash with multiple injuries, including his own buggered knee. If the deal were to take place, TwoTwo Motorsports would have arguably the most powerful duo as Reed intends to continue his two-wheeled career.

"That was an unsuccessful run for both of us that year but we can make a good run for it and we can make it work,” he said of 2012 and beyond. “We'll see what happens, at this point it can go in any direction so we just hope that we're in the fight."

You have to remember two two motorsports is a factory team now backed by Honda so he has alot of the same commodities that Kawi has and they have the money to go after RV. Kawi is really not paying RV what he deserves with everything he's one he only makes around 900,000 compared to someone like dungey who is making 4 million. History repeats itself and although im not a fan of bubba he's a great rider that got started on team green but soon made the move away and made way more money. Motocross is a aport where you need to go where the money is FAST cause you already have a short career unless your John Dowd and your career could end at any moment. I'm a huge RV fan and I really hope he makes the move to honda.

Chad Reed must have some serious loot if he thinks he can pry RV from the Monster Kawasaki Factory team. Besides, the factory team has provided a package that can deliver. 2012 AMA US National Supercross Champion 2012 FIM Supercross World Champion 2011 AMA US National Supercross Champion 2011 FIM Supercross World Champion 2011 AMA US National Motocross Champion 2011 FIM Motocross Des Nations World Champion 2008 AMA US National Motocross (250cc) Champion 2008 FIM Motocross Des Nations World Champion 2007 AMA US Supercross (West-250cc) Champion 2007 AMA US National Motocross (250cc) Champion 2007 FIM Motocross Des Nations World Champion 2006 AMA US National Motocross (250cc) Champion 2006 FIM Motocross Des Nations World Champion 2006 AMA Supercross / Motocross Rookie of The Year Thats all on a Kawi.
