Elena Myers, a 19-year-old pioneer in the sport of motorcycle road racing, has secured a multi-year agreement to ride the No. 21 Castrol-Apex-Triumph in the AMA GoPro Daytona SportBike Series. In March 2012, Myers made history by becoming the first woman to ever win a professional race
of any kind at Daytona International Speedway, taking the checkered flag in SuperSport race #2 at the famed racetrack.
Myers will be racing the all-new Triumph Daytona 675R, which features a redesigned engine and chassis and is now available at dealers throughout North America.
"After a great couple of race weekends with Triumph and the Sportbike Track Time team at Daytona and Road America, I’m so happy to officially be a part of the Triumph family,” said Myers. “Everyone at Triumph has been so awesome to work with and I can't say enough about the bike. I'm really looking forward to continuing to develop this bike and to get the 2013 675R on the podium."
“Elena is one of the best riders in the country and we’re honored to have her on our team,” said team owner and crew chief Richard Harris. “We have a lot of positive momentum coming off Daytona and Road America, and we’re looking forward to an exciting season.”
