Jorge Lorenzo Re-Injured in Germany

Friday, July 12, 2013
Reigning MotoGP World Champ Jorge Lorenzo suffered another big crash today in Germany high-siding his Yamaha YZR-M1 and re-injuring his recently displaced left collarbone broken just over two weeks ago. The accident occurred during the final practice session of the day. At the time the factory Yamaha rider was leading the field having recorded the fastest time before throwing it away. Reports indicate that he may have bent the recently installed titanium plate that is holding his fragmented collarbone together thus requiring another surgery to repair the damage. As of now it is doubtful the 26-year-old will line up for Sunday’s race.

*Update: Lorenzo has withdrawn from this weekend's race and will return home immediately to have another surgery in hopes of returning to competition as soon as possible.
