The new 2009 CRF450R is significantly slimmer than the motorcycle it replaces, but will it be as nimble as the CRF250R?
A wider 120/80-19 Dunlop D756 puts power to the ground on the new 450.
Redesigned exhaust system incorporates a left-side cylinder head exhaust port, increasing header length and allows muffler to be positioned closer to center of mass, contributing to significantly improved weight distribution and handling.
In the chassis department, a Generation 5 aluminum frame incorporates a forged steering head and is almost a full pound lighter than the 2008 model. The steering head has been moved 10mm closer to the rider which in turn moves the front wheel 15mm towards the center of the bike.

A HRC PGM-FI Setting Tool allows CRF450R owners to modify fuel delivery as well as ignition timing thereby altering engine power characteristics. The price of the HRC PGM-FI Setting Tool is $349.
We're really going to miss that big mechanical fuel-mixing carburetors doohickey... or not.
