Perhaps it's due to the fact that forum contains the same type of riders and thus all are considered on a fairly even skill level. Compare that to this forum which contains multiple type of riders and Lou thinks he's better than everyone because of it. Regardless, an arrogant dick is still an arrogant dick.

A person who is nice to you but rude to the waitress is still a rude person.

Oh no, the skill levels over at BARF are all over the map, (I think the average age over there is mid to low 30's).

The opportunities to belittle inexperienced riders are numerous and daily as there are hundreds of new threads each day.

There's just more people who stand up to him over there, which has led him to cool it, and, I'm guessing now, the Moderators over there might have had a "chat" with him as he's been on his very best behavior since several "veterans" over there put him on ignore.

He even gave an enthusiastic thumbs up to a rider that recently bought one of these bikes.

Which is certainly the right thing to do but far from the response you might have expected if, let's say Desmo, Racer1 or myself had bought one and posted about it.

He can actually behave like a reasonable guy, which is a good thing.

Current bikes: F800ST, DRZ400SM

Past bikes, starting with the first in 1970: CB50, K75S, Seca 550, Nighthawk 750, TL1000S

Interesting. Unfortunately, being forced to act like a reasonable person differs from doing so voluntarily from their own compassion.

An intelligent person doesn't need the promise of heaven to see the merit of good deeds.

Ahh yes, I remember this bike and the review thread. Desmo trashed it majorly for its weak power. Lou defended it because the MCUSA reviewer liked it. Memories.

Lou was always a reasonable member on the old board. He wrote articulate posts and was respectful of others--he was never confrontational and never resorted to personal attacks. Besides, it was obvious that anyone who disagreed with Lou was a moron anyway, since he was simply always right.
