Baker Smoke-Down Showdown Sturgis 2014

MotorcycleUSA Staff | July 14, 2014

Two bikes in, one bike out. It will be survival-of-the-quickest at the Easyriders Saloon Wednesday night, August 6, during the annual Baker Sturgis Smoke-Down Showdown. In a drag-style, head-to-head burnout competition, the first person who can get the tires smokin’ in fifth gear advances to the next round until the field is narrowed down to its final two competitors.
The burnout competition is put on annually by Baker Drivetrain’s mad genius, Bert Baker, along with sponsors like J&P Cycles, Biker’s Choice, and Powerplant Choppers. Venerable Jay Allen, a man known to burn up a tire or two himself, will once again emcee the event.

The event will take place at the Easyriders Saloon Main Stage on Lazelle Street in downtown Sturgis Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m.
