The Gathering of Legends by Michael Lichter 2015 Metzeler Calendar
The work of photographer Michael Lichter is featured in a limited edition 2015 Metzeler Calendar called “The Gathering of Legends” with pictures from rallies and events like Sturgis, Daytona Beach Bike Week and Born Free.

In my tenure as Cruiser Editor for Motorcycle USA, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented photographers in the industry. But as far as capturing the true essence of the motorcycle lifestyle goes, one person I truly admire who stands out above the rest is Michael Lichter. He’s one of the hardest working guys I know, be it Laconia, Sturgis, Daytona Beach, the Lone Star Rally – no matter what rally I’m covering, Lichter is always there too, knee pads on, cameras slung over his shoulder, usually with a helper shadowing him to help carry extra lenses and camera bodies and maybe learn a thing or two. He’s been shooting for Easyriders for eons, has a keen eye and the skills to capture pure, honest moments through his lenses. Yearly he’s the presenter of the Motorcycles as Art exhibit in Sturgis at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.

So when I heard Lichter’s work will be featured in the 2015 Metzeler Calendar, I wanted to help spread the word. The 2015 calendar is called “The Gathering of Legends” and is dedicated to the “great motorcycle rallies.” It will feature shots from Daytona Beach Bike Week, Sturgis, Born Free, the Motorcycle Cannonball, Canada’s Wharf Rat Rally and the Mooneyes Annual Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan.

“Lichter, better than anyone else, depicts these events through his photographs, and thanks to his experience he has managed to capture on film the feel of these major motorcycle rallies,” wrote Metzeler in the press release announcing the calendar’s release.

It’s a limited production run, so if you’re looking for one special calendar to put up in your shop or office for 2015, this one is it. “The Gathering of Legends” Metzeler Calendar features 20 shots in all, from bikes to people to the scene. Good stuff from my friend Michael and the crew at Metzeler, so be sure to check it out!
